Composite Regional Centre (CRC), Mohaan Road, Lucknow

The campus of CRC, Lucknow is located in the outskirts of the city at Mohaan Road, and became operational since November-2005.The centre is headed by Office In charge deputed by the Institute. The centre has been providing comprehensive rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities which has gained considerable acceptance and successes among the disabled population in and around the city. The centre, in its manpower development services run following academic programme recognized and approved by RCI, New Delhi.

The classes for the above courses were conducted by engaging guest faculties from CSM Medical University, (formerly known as King George Medical University) Lucknow, G.B. Pant Polytechnic, “Sparsh” Rajkiya Andh Vidyalaya, Lucknow etc. along with the professionals engaged on contractual basis in the center. These activities are being run as per the guidelines given and approved by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India.

Awareness training programmes in the field of rehabilitation and disability are being organized for grass root level workers viz; Anganwari workers, ANM's, ICDS workers, ASHA Workers, Shiksha Mitra etc. and the report is as under :

The centre also takes responsibility to receive students of different colleges of Lucknow as well as its neighbor peripheral cities for educational visits as per their course curriculum in the field of disability and rehabilitation.

Apart from the above, the center also imparts Practical OJT (on the job Training) to the interns of Bachelor of Physical Therapy & Bachelor Occupational Therapy of P.D.U.I.P.H. New Delhi, who are deputed for their internship training during the compulsory posting of one month in the rural area, year wise report is an under :

Camps for assessment and distribution of aids and appliances to the persons with disabilities in the districts allocated by the Ministry are also organised under ADIP Scheme. Camps have been organized on the request of district administration and non-governmental organizations for assessment / examinations of persons with disabilities and there after distribution of necessary and required assistive devices take place within a stipulated date.

 

Polio Corrective Surgery

 

The centre also arranged a Polio Corrective Surgery camp which was organized w.e.f. 19th February to 21st February, 2010 at Jyotiba Phule Combined District Hospital, Distt. Ambedkar Nagar, UP by CRC, Lucknow in collaboration with Department of Handicapped Welfare, U.P. Govt. and the District Administration. A total of 477 persons with disabilities were registered out of which a total of 111 surgeries were performed during the camp.

The programme was organized under the Scheme named ‘Uttar Pradesh Ke Nirdhan Evam Asahaya Viklang Vyaktiyon Ki Viklangata Nivaran Hetu Shalya Chikitsa Anudan Niyamavali-2004’ now amended as “Shalya Chikitsa Anudan Niyamavali-2007”. of Govt. of U.P, within the funds made available by the Department of Handicapped Welfare, U.P. Govt. The persons with disabilities likely to be benefited by surgery were identified during the assessment / examination camp conducted by CRC, Lucknow on 19th February to 21st February, 2010. and later the Surgery was performed by the team of Society for Polio Surgery & care for Disabled, New Delhi.

On request and efforts of CRC, Lucknow, the State Govt. has approved for plying of city bus services from Railway Station to Mohaan via CRC, Lucknow, because of which the beneficiaries are now able to reach the centre conveniently and avail services of the centre.
